Course Overview

Plainfield Country Club, located just outside Edison in New Jersey, invites golfers into an 18-hole private championship layout that challenges and rewards in equal measure. Set within Central New Jersey’s gently rolling landscape, this course embodies classic parkland style, where mature trees frame fairways and well-placed bunkers stand watchful near the greens. The course demands strategic shot-making while remaining accessible enough to engage a broad spectrum of golfers, from steady mid-handicappers to seasoned low-handicap players seeking a test of precision and course management.

From the first tee, players encounter a rhythm that balances wide, forgiving driving areas with tight, craftily designed approach shots. The greens are consistently well-maintained, presenting subtle breaks that ask for careful reading and smooth putting strokes. Water hazards appear sporadically, primarily guarding the front nine, requiring thoughtful club selection under pressure. Membership is required to experience Plainfield, with tee times reserved exclusively for members and their guests. The course’s upkeep, combined with thoughtful design elements, underscores its reputation as a premier private golfing destination in the region. Whether refining your short game on the practice facilities or navigating the challenges of the back nine, Plainfield demands both focus and finesse. I had my wedding in June of this year, this place is beautiful but the issue I had with this venue was the food, the food we ordered and paid for was not fully cooked and the food had no type of seasoning. It was awful. I was so embarrassed having to hear about how bad the food was from my guests. What we tried beforehand was nothing like what we received on the day of my wedding. I also didn’t like the fact that my contract said I had the place till 11:45 (initially I was told 12) but my family and I were being rushed out at 10. A worker from this venue even picked up my foam lights from the table and took it away so my guests couldn’t enjoy them. Also, where the drinks were stationed were little puddles of water, my family and my wedding coordinator were the ones that had to clean it up because the workers did not even come back to clean it up when they were told about it. I saw this with my own eyes. I’m not sure if this is true but I’ve been told by some guests that they overheard some workers talking about turning the air off in order to get us out of the venue at around 8 I believe. It was very hot during the reception but I am unsure if I was just hot because I was dancing but the older people who just sat and enjoyed their time sitting around talking mentioned it was very hot even though they didn’t do much moving.

I've done a couple of floral events there. Now I clean a couple of houses in Maison du Luc! As well as 3 others in the club.

I would recommend this place to anyone that’s planning any event. I had my wedding here back on 10/1/22 and if I could do it all over again, I would. Kennedy was a delight to work with. Everything was perfect.

Attended a wedding last night and enjoyed the climate and atmosphere of the place. The warm feeling sure made the wedding spectacular. I look forward to any other events there that I am invited to.

We feel hot all the time in the party because the air conditioner is too weak. Also, the speakers are old and the sound is bad. It should be changed. Otherwise, everything is good.
