Cape May Court House, New Jersey, USACentral New Jersey

Union League National Golf Club offers an 18-hole layout shaped by uncommon elevation changes in South Jersey. This private championship course blends strategic challenges with modern amenities, making it a standout destination for golfers seeking a varied and engaging round.

Course Overview

Union League National Golf Club presents an 18-hole championship experience set in Cape May Court House, New Jersey, where elevation changes shape a course that feels rare for South Jersey’s generally flat landscapes. This private facility offers a modern layout that challenges golfers with strategic variety and visual appeal, blending open spaces and carefully contoured fairways. The course’s design emphasizes playability while rewarding thoughtful shot-making, making it a compelling destination for players seeking both challenge and enjoyment.

The routing takes full advantage of the natural undulations, creating holes where length and precision are in constant dialogue. Elevation shifts influence both club selection and shot shape, especially on the par 4s and par 5s, inviting players to engage with the terrain actively. Notably, some succinct par 4s demand aggressive iron play and precise approach shots, reinforcing a strategic mindset without overwhelming less experienced golfers. The course maintains a balanced test that offers opportunities to score well while requiring respect for the layout’s nuances.

Union League National’s recent renovation efforts have been ambitious, with improvements to drainage and turf conditions ensuring a high-standard playing surface. While some areas remain a work in progress, these changes point to an evolving facility with strong potential to rank prominently among New Jersey’s golf destinations. The new clubhouse supports the golf experience with modern amenities and a vibrant outdoor patio, encouraging moments of relaxation after rounds.

Walking is encouraged where possible, and the terrain is manageable with well-maintained paths. For players planning to ride, the club offers advanced electric carts equipped with GPS and cooling features, enhancing comfort and convenience under summer sun. The staff is noted for attentiveness, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere despite the club’s exclusive membership.

Nice golf course. I like the elevation changes which are unusual for south jersey. Very well maintained. Only downside was a few too many short par fours for my liking.

I don't understand how this place has so many positive reviews. I played here in April and the course is VERY under construction. It seems as though they will not be done constructing this course for another few years. I do like that they are essentially starting with a blank canvas and creating the course from scratch but more care could be taken to ensure that there is no standing water or sand patches in the middle of fairways. If you get the chance to play here, definitely take advantage. I assume that this club will be very nice once the renovations are complete. The clubhouse is also very new and has a great outdoor patio area.
