Evergreen Golf Course

Evergreen, Colorado, USACentral Colorado

Evergreen Golf Course in Colorado presents an 18-hole mountain layout that combines tight fairways and blind shots with scenic natural elements. Its approachable length and strategic design invite players seeking an engaging, walkable round in a rugged foothills setting.

Course Overview

Situated at 29614 Upper Bear Creek Rd in Evergreen, Colorado, Evergreen Golf Course offers an authentic mountain golfing experience that blends natural ruggedness with thoughtful design. This 18-hole, par 70 layout spans roughly 5,600 yards and challenges players with narrow fairways edged by thick rough and native grasses. Its setting among the pine and fir trees of the foothills creates a quiet, contemplative environment where the demands of elevation changes and blind tee shots keep every round engaging.

The course’s terrain plays a defining role. Several holes feature elevated tees and doglegs that require precise shot placement, while the natural rocky outcrops and undulating greens reward careful strategy over brute force. Though shorter in length, the layout’s tight corridors and seven blind tee shots command steady focus from golfers of varied skill levels. While low handicappers will appreciate the challenge of precision and course management, the inviting yardage makes the course approachable for mid-handicap players seeking a test without overwhelming power requirements.

Evergreen is designed primarily for walking, with players encouraged to use push carts or carry clubs. The mountain air and moderate elevation shifts give the course a refreshing rhythm, and the absence of a driving range underlines the emphasis on on-course play and strategy. Wildlife sightings are common, adding to the immersive outdoor feel.

Beyond the course, the friendly staff contributes a welcoming atmosphere, evident from the pro shop to on-course interactions. Dining options nearby provide a pleasant conclusion to rounds, where local flavors complement the rugged setting. The pace of play is consistently smooth, making the experience relaxing yet invigorating.

For golfers traveling to the Denver area looking to step away from urban courses, Evergreen Golf Course presents a distinctive option. It rewards those who appreciate thoughtful shot shaping in a mountain environment rather than sheer yards. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a quiet afternoon round, this course offers a memorable encounter with Colorado’s golf terrain that encourages precision, patience, and a deepened connection to the natural surroundings.

Me and my son played golf here while in vacation and I cannot recommend it enough. We are not scratch golfers by no means, so it was challenging with several blind holes and lots of tight fairways. Although we got a cart, most were walking with push carts. Pace of play was perfect. Very little to no waiting between holes. This is a great mountain course with picture perfect holes. Price was extremely affordable for what you get.

Great course. Great service. My buddies and I have golfed this course a lot over the years, and fully intend to keep going back anytime we have a mountain trip or weekend getaway. The most recent trip out, around the 3rd week of June, we were greeted by Roby at the pro shop. He took excellent care of us, gave us some pointers on some tricky holes, and was just overall a delightful guy to meet. Thanks for the time, and we'll see The Evergreen Team again soon!

The course is great. Unfortunately we had a bad experience with the staff. The party behind us was playing speed golf even though they had a kid with them. So, since they were blazing up behind us, they decided to call the pro shop and complain, and we got harassed almost every other hole. I pay to play and enjoy my time not being rushed. We even caught up to the players ahead of us and didn't call on them....go figure. Courtesy. We were even right on time for our turnaround. My advice to the pro shop is to check the time and see if everyone is right on schedule and not just take the word of a whiny bunch who wants to run through the course. Everyone pays to play. Only giving 2 stars because the course was nice.

For everyone who hasn’t played here before: THERE IS NO DRIVING RANGE. Tricky but short course. 7 different blind tee shots. You have to walk up and make sure the fairway is clear but it provides an engaging atmosphere that keeps you focused on your game. Just because the last few holes are technically drivable, doesn’t mean you should go for them. Trees and doglegs make a short course a real challenge. The rough is thick and there is plenty of tall natural grass and rocky areas. Lots of wildlife. A few spots on the fairway and greens use some TLC but overall, this is an incredible experience. How often do you get to golf on a mountain? Can’t wait for my next round out here when the grill is open. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

I have golfed this course twice now and have enjoyed it both times. There are quite a few blind holes so it is a little challenging to know if it is clear to tee off. Hole 3 is a complete blind shot over a huge boulder, making it kind of fun and a challenging par 3! At least there is a bell that the previous group has to ring, signaling that the green is clear and you can tee off. This course does not have a driving range, so if you are the kind of person that enjoys or needs the range before you play, you're not gonna get it. There is a chipping and putting practice area available. I dont know if there is ever a cart girl/guy but I have not come across one either time playing there. It sounds like the bar and restaurant has been closed for some time which was a little disappointing. Overall, Evergreen golf course is affordable and has some challenging holes to play!

Stopping in for dinner a hike, seated promptly and before we'd even had a chance of looking at the menu, there was iced water and a bread basket good to go. The lass serving us was very attentive, polite and well informed about the menu. Food was well portioned, and great tasting. The pork shank was sublime in flavour, as was the cherry pie and ice cream. Well worth a visit even if you're not a golfer. There was a saxophone player setting up as we finished, so live music is available

I liked the course (a bit rugged, but priced right) and the staff. However, there are several holes where you're shooting blind and it's legitimately uncomfortable. It's compounded by how backed up it can be - you think you've waited a long time, then pull over the hill to realize you just hit into a group. The bar/restaurant was closed which was fine, but it was weird they were sold out of bottled water. I'll probably go again, but if they could address the blind spot issue (simple camera monitor system at certain tees?) it'd really enhance the safety/experience.
