This outdoor spot stands out for its colorful travertine terraces—mineral deposits shaped over time by warm, bubbling waters. The pools range from shallow to moderately deep, filled with naturally heated, mineral-rich water that gently warms the body while providing a calming soak. Framed by sweeping views of the Sierra Nevada mountains, it’s a perfect place to relax after a day of outdoor activities or long drives across the rugged landscape.

The springs’ geological formation is largely due to calcium carbonate that deposits as the hot water cools and flows over the rocky terrain, creating terraces with a striking appearance uncommon in this region. Visitors appreciate the accessible paths leading to multiple pools, some requiring a short, easy hike, rewarding patience with quieter spots and better soaking conditions. These public springs have drawn visitors for decades, favored for their soothing warmth even in chilly weather, and for open night skies ideal for stargazing.

The area holds cultural significance as it has been visited by Native American communities, who have regarded the springs respectfully over many years. Amenities are minimal, emphasizing a natural and genuine experience. Dispersed camping near the springs allows for extended stays amid the serene surroundings.
