About This Adventure

Embark on a thrilling 14.5-mile hike to the summit of Clouds Rest, soaring 1,000 feet above Half Dome. Experience breathtaking 360-degree views of Yosemite, including iconic landmarks like Tenaya Lake and El Capitan. This strenuous adventure promises hair-raising cliffs and unforgettable vistas, making it a must-do for avid hikers.

This 17 mile extremely strenuous day hike is not for the faint of heart, but is a once in a lifetime experience for those who have what it takes! This unique landmark stands at 8800 feet, nearly 5000 feet from the floor of the Yosemite Valley and is the prize of every thrill-seeking visitor! Note: This hike has steep drop-offs that may bother people with acrophobia.

The Half Dome Summit Hike is available with advance permits only. We will apply for permits on your behalf, and will offer alternative dates, companies and/or adventurous should you loose the permit lottery.

Begin the hike at dawn to enjoy cooler temperatures and quieter trails, especially on weekends and holidays.

Bring plenty of water

Carry at least 3 liters of water since there are no reliable water sources along the trail.

Stay alert and cautious on rocky ridges where exposure to steep drop-offs can be dangerous.

Wear sturdy hiking boots
