Newport State Park is a remarkable 2,373-acre expanse located in Northeastern Wisconsin on the Door County Peninsula. This designated wilderness area is the only Wisconsin state park to have achieved a wilderness designation, emphasizing its commitment to preserving natural habitats and landscapes. The park boasts over 11 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, providing striking views and pristine natural beaches. It features a range of mixed habitats, including dense forests, wetland areas, and open prairie fields. Historically, the area was home to Native American tribes, and later, it was a site for early European settlement. Today, Newport State Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a plethora of recreational activities.
