Thetis Lake Regional Park, located just a short drive from Victoria, BC, spans across approximately 834 acres and is renowned for its natural beauty and recreational opportunities. The park consists of two interconnected lakes—Upper and Lower Thetis—which are bordered by forested hills and rocky outcrops. These features not only provide excellent hiking trails and swimming spots but also stunning vistas of the surrounding landscapes. The park's ecosystem is diverse, hosting various plant and animal species including Garry oaks, Douglas firs, and Pacific madrone, as well as deer, otters, and numerous bird species. Its history as a regional park dates back to 1958, aimed to preserve the area’s natural landscape for public enjoyment and protection of its ecological significance. Key recreation opportunities include swimming, picnicking, canoeing, and hiking, with trails offering varying levels of difficulty.
