Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage

Pohorje Nature Park is a mountainous nature reserve located in the northeastern part of Slovenia, encompassing the Pohorje mountain range which rises between the Drava and Savinja rivers. The park covers an area of predominantly dense spruce and beech forests, interspersed with vast subalpine meadows and peat bogs unique in the region. The park is well-known for its glacial lakes, including the picturesque Black Lake (Črno jezero), a popular destination for nature lovers and hikers.
