Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage

Natalbany Wildlife Management Area (WMA) spans over 33,000 acres in southeastern Louisiana, primarily within Livingston and Tangipahoa parishes. It comprises bottomland hardwood forests, swamps, marshes, and upland habitats, forming an important ecological zone in the Gulf Coastal Plain. The area features waterways including Natalbany River and other tributaries, providing essential wetlands that support a vast array of wildlife. Established to protect wildlife and provide sustainable public hunting lands, the WMA is managed by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF).
