Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest spans approximately 3,500 acres in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Kent. The site combines the nationally significant Bedgebury Pinetum, a dedicated collection of over 15,000 conifer specimens from around the world, with an extensive forest offering diverse ecosystems including ancient woodlands, heathland, and wetlands. Established in 1924, the Pinetum aims to conserve conifers globally, playing an important role in botanical research and education. The forest area supports multiple recreational pursuits, with well-maintained walking trails and a world-class mountain biking center featuring over 16 miles of purpose-built singletrack suitable for all skill levels. Wildlife is abundant, with various bird species, deer, and butterflies inhabiting the woodlands. Notable landmarks include the Millennium Glade, a serene area of broadleaf woodland, and various sculpture trails that blend art and nature. Visitors are drawn to Bedgebury for outdoor activities, educational programs, and the striking seasonal display of conifer diversity. The nearby visitor center provides interpretive exhibits, a café, bike hire, and event facilities, enhancing the visitor experience. Bedgebury also serves as an important conservation area and a hub for environmental awareness and outdoor sports in the southeast of England.
