At Playa Forti, a steep ladder gives access down to a small, pebbly cove where the water is calm enough for morning swims. Another trail worth exploring leads from Shete Boka National Park’s outskirts to Boka Tabla, an isolated inlet where waves crash forcibly through the narrow reef gap below. This 4 km trail threads over limestone ridges and through scrubby vegetation, with intermittent shade from twisted divi-divi trees. Hikers should be prepared for a bit of climb—about 150 meters of elevation gain—and rocky terrain that tests balance. The trail ends at a platform giving sweeping views of crashing waves and hidden sea caves, with several small pebble beaches tucked nearby for rest and quiet.

Plan hikes early in the day to avoid the heat and bring at least two liters of water per person. Footwear with solid traction is non-negotiable—sharp rocks and loose gravel dominate the landscape. Also, take a compass or GPS since some junctions are poorly marked but the coastline itself offers a reliable natural guide. The temperatures stay warm year-round, but early mornings and late afternoons temper the intensity and increase the chance to spot Curaçao’s signature lizards and brightly colored tropical birds.

The rugged trails here don’t accommodate large groups comfortably, so keep your party small to protect the fragile coastal environment.
