Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage

Mount Baldy Wilderness is located within the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in eastern Arizona. Covering about 7,079 acres, the area is named after Arizona's second-highest peak, Mount Baldy, which rises to 11,403 feet. The wilderness is characterized by its diverse ecosystems ranging from pine and spruce forests to alpine meadows. It serves as a watershed for the Little Colorado River and is home to a variety of wildlife, including elk and black bears.
