Located in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka, India, Kudremukh National Park is a biodiversity hotspot spread across 600 square kilometers within the Western Ghats. This national park features rugged terrains, rolling meadows, and the striking peak of Kudremukh, which resembles a horse's face, offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding valleys. The park is a crucial habitat for endangered species like the lion-tailed macaque, tigers, and leopards, and is rich in flora with dense forests and a variety of endemic plant species. Historically, the area has been of ecological significance due to its unique shola-grassland ecosystem. Kudremukh is also dotted with streams and rivers, making it an ideal spot for aquatic life as well. Its visitors can engage in numerous recreational activities such as hiking its various trails, wildlife watching, and exploring the meandering rivers and waterfalls scattered through the park grounds. The climate, lush greenery, and relatively undisturbed nature attract a considerable number of nature enthusiasts throughout the year, providing a serene escape into the wilderness.
