Delaney Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is a 3,908-acre protected landscape in Highland County, Virginia, situated within the Appalachian Mountains. The diverse terrain includes a mix of mature hardwood forests, old fields, wetlands, and open meadows, supporting a wide variety of native species. This WMA plays a crucial role in preserving the region’s ecological integrity by providing habitat for white-tailed deer, wild turkey, black bear, bobcat, and seasonal waterfowl. Known for its rich bird life and the presence of rare plant communities, Delaney WMA appeals to hunters, birdwatchers, and hikers alike.
