The pristine waters of the Wood River in Oregon start flowing from springs, which are fed by underground waters originating below Crater Lake National Park, located only a short distance to the north.

Our guides will put you in at the headwaters, where you will embark on a beautiful 3-hour float down the Wood River to the Kimball Park day-use area. This river is known for its crystal clear waters and huge Brown Trout.

What's included:

What to bring:

  • Kayak, if bringing your own
  • Bottle of water
  • Light snacks
  • Sun and eye protection, such as sunglasses and/or a hat with a brim
  • Synthetic, athletic clothes and shoes that can get sandy or wet (or go barefoot). Avoid cottons, like jeans and sweatshirts

What to know:

  • The Headwaters can be precarious especially during spring runoff so moderate kayaking experience is needed.
  • Small capacity tour only up to 12 paddlers
  • Up to two guides per group, depending on size
