Embark on a unique 4-hour adventure that combines kayaking and exploration at Ft. Rousseau State Historical Park, a former WWII US Naval Base. More walking than kayaking. After a short paddle to the causeway, we will explore Ft. Rousseau State Historical Park, a decommissioned WWII US Naval Base. A series of gravel roads connects the 8 Islands were we will find ammunition bunkers, officers quarters, artillery emplacements and the naval base headquarters. We will explore several of these areas during our time on the island and learn about Sitka in WWII.
