Experience the joy of stand-up paddle boarding with our small group lessons every Saturday at 10am. Enjoy personalized instruction from certified instructors in a supportive environment, perfect for all skill levels. This 90-minute session includes hands-on training and a guided paddle on scenic Sue Creek, ensuring you build confidence and technique.
Stand up paddle boarding is one of the few water activities that almost everyone can enjoy, no matter what your age or athletic ability. Many people think they do not need a lesson, but if you want to learn proper paddle technique and advance your paddle skills then our lessons are made for you!
Every Saturday we offer our popular small group lesson at 10am. This 90 minute experience includes plenty of hands on instruction followed by a guided paddle on Sue Creek. Each lesson is capped at 8 people to ensure you get personalized attention so that we can help you reach your goals (whether that be simply balancing on the board- or working on improving your stroke technique!).
All B’More SUP staff are certified SUP instructors and taking a lesson with us will ensure that everyone in your group has the time and instruction needed to feel comfortable on a board.
All lessons Include:
Arrive at least 15 minutes before your lesson to check in and get fitted with gear.
Dress in quick-drying, comfortable clothing suitable for getting wet during the lesson.
Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated before and after paddling.
Protect your skin with eco-friendly sunscreen to minimize environmental impact on Sue Creek.
Sue Creek has a long history as a local fishing spot, with Essex evolving from a small waterfront community to a popular outdoor destination.
Efforts are ongoing to maintain the health of Sue Creek’s water quality and natural habitats, with paddlers encouraged to follow Leave No Trace principles.
