Overview

This introductory lesson offers a private session of instruction and practice in the calm, protected waters of Makena Bay. Most guests are up and paddling within 30 minutes of instruction! Your expert instructor will work with you to improve your technique while you learn about Maui’s rich marine environment, ancient geology, and the island’s natural history.

Guests will have the opportunity to experience incredible views of Haleakala summit, Molokini Crater, and South Maui’s scenic coastline, while enjoying a total body workout.

This trip is perfect for first time ocean enthusiasts and beginner paddlers!

What you will need

  • Sun Screen (SPF 30 or higher).
  • A full water bottle. One liter or larger - please help us reduce our environmental footprint by bringing a re-usable bottle.
  • A hat with a brim.
  • Beach shoes or flip flops.
  • Sunglasses with a neck strap such as "Chums" or “Croakies”
  • Swim suit or swim trunks.
  • Rashguard. (optional)
  • Come ready to get on the water!
