Smart Tours is a Jenner, California-based operator that offers guided kayak experiences on the Russian River where it meets the Pacific Ocean. The company runs two signature trips: the Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast and the Russian River Estuary Kayak Tour. The Sonoma Coast tour is an approximately 2.5-hour outing that combines paddling the river with a beach walk and offers views of the Pacific Ocean. The Estuary tour focuses on gentle waters through the river mouth, beginning from Jenner, and highlights seals, pelicans, and ospreys.
Smart Tours designs outings for people who want wildlife viewing, coastal scenery, and relaxed paddling on the Russian River. Wildlife commonly noted on trips includes birds, seals, and the occasional passing whale on coastal stretches; estuary paddles emphasize sea birds and harbor seals. Tours launch from Jenner, California, providing direct access to both the estuary and the Sonoma Coast meeting point with the ocean.
Trip descriptions identify expected activities—paddling, shoreline walking, and wildlife observation—so visitors can prepare appropriately. Safety and clear trip expectations are emphasized through trip summaries that outline duration and on-water conditions. Smart Tours' public descriptions provide straightforward information about what to expect on each excursion, the primary wildlife and landscapes encountered, and the Jenner launch location. Travelers researching Russian River kayak options will find factual, focused trip summaries that assist with planning and choosing between an estuary paddle and a coast-facing river experience. Information is based on provided trip summaries and the Jenner launch location only available.
