Whether you are brand new to paddle boarding or have a new board and are looking for some guidance, we are here to help!
Start your paddling journey with the help and support of one of our highly trained paddle guides. During our time together, we'll share all the necessary steps to feel confident as you strike out on the water, including knowing your equipment, launching and returning, basic paddle strokes, safety tips, and more! Best of all, we'll have fun exploring our favorite local spot on the Lehigh River - where it feels like we've left Pennsylvania behind!
A family-friendly learning opportunity!
We provide all the necessary gear for students as needed. If you are bringing your own board and using an inflatable, please try to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class start time to inflate your board fully for class. All BYOB (bring your own board) participants must have a valid DCNR boat launch permit and life jacket.
If bringing an inflatable paddle board, plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before class starts to fully inflate your board.
A life jacket is mandatory for all participants—rentals are provided if you don’t bring your own.
Hydration and sun protection are crucial since the session lasts up to 90 minutes on open water.
BYOB paddlers must possess a valid DCNR boat launch permit to legally use the launch site.
The Lehigh River has long served as a transportation and industrial corridor, its historic canal system dating back to the 19th century shaping early Pennsylvania commerce.
Efforts by local groups help maintain water quality and riverbank habitats, encouraging sustainable recreation on the Lehigh.
