About Silver Thread Vineyard
Silver Thread Vineyard is a Finger Lakes winery offering estate-grown wines, guided tastings, educational vineyard tours, and seasonal culinary events. Located with views over Seneca Lake, the property includes an estate tasting room and the Winegarden, a covered patio space used for dinners, workshops, and special programming.
The vineyard showcases a biointensive approach to grape growing that is highlighted during the Estate Tasting & Vineyard Tour. Visitors walk the blocks, learn about sustainable vineyard practices, and then taste five estate wines selected to illustrate terroir and winemaking choices. The Estate Reserve & Library Tasting is a reservation-only experience that presents a guided flight of six wines while staff share the stories and aging potential of each vintage.
Seasonal events and pairings are a key part of the calendar. Harvest Wine & Food Pairing events change monthly with three wines and curated small bites; past pairings have included natural wines and local ingredients such as smoked trout. Special culinary evenings have included a 34th Anniversary Dinner featuring a five-course menu by Chef Michael Lanahan paired with ten-year-old wines. The Winegarden also hosts collaborative events like Turkish Night and floral workshops led by guest artisans, such as Sydney Fee of Fee Fi Fo Flower Farm.
Silver Thread Vineyard serves guests who seek intimate, educational wine experiences, thoughtful food pairings, and scenic Finger Lakes vistas. Reservations are encouraged or required for select experiences to ensure personalized attention and limited seating.
