2.5 Hours • Bike Albatross Ridge Vineyards and Drink Wine!
2.5 Hours
Elevate not only your e-biking experience, but your wine-tasting experience as well. Embark on a captivating electric bike tour through the breathtaking vineyards of Albatross Ridge, a truly exceptional winemaking destination. Crafted by the visionary minds of Brad and Garrett Bowlus, this remarkable 25-acre estate on California's Carmel Coast unveils a mosaic of 12 distinct vineyard blocks.
Delight in the diversity of Albatross Ridge's vineyard hidden amongst the hills of Carmel Valley and the Carmel Coast, where varying elevations, exposures, soil compositions, and clonal selections intertwine harmoniously.
Albatross Ridge's soil composition stands as a defining feature that sets it apart. Despite reaching elevations of up to 1,250 feet, the vineyard's ancient uplifted marine seabed soils, rich in diatomaceous and shale elements, mirror those found in Burgundy. These exceptional soils impart rare and distinctive mineral qualities to the meticulously grown Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, allowing them to flourish with complexity. The vineyard's steep slopes, with grades up to 25%, encourage excellent drainage and contribute to the vineyard's remarkably low yields, averaging under 2 tons per acre.
Immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of Albatross Ridge as you embark on an electric bike tour through this enchanting vineyard.
Upon arrival, your experience begins with a brief overview and training on the customized e-bike. Your guide will lead you throughout the undulating terrain to soak in the breathtaking vistas, and discover the profound stories woven into each vine and wine. Before the tour, Mad Dogs will contact you and assist in selecting the most suitable e-bike according to your height and skill level. Albatross Ridge will contact you for your choice of picnic lunch and any dietary restrictions.
After your electric bike excursion, a guided wine tasting and picnic lunch will be ready for your enjoyment. The Albatross Ridge team will continue to elevate your experience by teaching and conversing with you about each handcrafted estate wine on the very land it is grown, accompanied by an artisanal cheese and charcuterie board and local cuisine. Experience the culmination of passion, tradition, and organic farming principles, which combine to create the extraordinary wines that embody the essence of Albatross Ridge.
We estimate 1 hour for the e-bike ride and 1.5 hours for the wine tasting. Depending on the preferences of your group, we are happy to adjust either time accordingly.
