The Manzano Mountain Wilderness spans over 36,875 acres within the Cibola National Forest in central New Mexico. The wilderness area is characterized by steep canyons, high ridges, and dense forests that include the southwestern edge of the Rocky Mountains. The Manzano Mountains are home to a diverse array of flora and fauna, including ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, as well as black bears, bobcats, and numerous bird species.
