Lone Pine State Park, located near Kalispell, Montana, is a scenic state park known for its panoramic views of the Flathead Valley and the Swan Mountains. Covering 270 acres, the park features a variety of flora and fauna typical of the northwestern Montana landscape, including ponderosa pines, wildflowers, mule deer, and a variety of bird species. Historically, the park land was donated by the Foy family to provide a natural space for education and recreation. Today, the park is popular for hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing, offering over seven miles of trails that range from easy to challenging. A highlight of the park is the Lone Pine Overlook, which presents a spectacular vista of the valley and distant peaks. The visitor center provides information, exhibits, and offers interpretive programs that enhance visitor understanding of local ecology and history.
