Lake Gogebic State Park is located in the western part of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This 360-acre park is situated on the western shore of Lake Gogebic, the largest inland lake in the U.P., covering 13,380 acres. The park is characterized by its scenic forests and clear waters, providing a haven for outdoor recreation. First established in 1930, it has been a beloved retreat for visitors seeking a natural escape. The park's ecosystem supports a variety of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, black bears, and diverse bird species. Lake Gogebic itself is renowned for excellent fishing opportunities, especially for walleye, northern pike, and perch. Visitors can enjoy a network of trails for hiking and snowmobiling, and during winter, the park becomes a hotspot for ice fishing and snow sports. Its rustic charm and extensive shoreline make it a popular destination for nature lovers throughout the year.
