Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Floyd County, Kentucky, Jenny Wiley State Resort Park encompasses over 2,900 acres of forested hills, river valleys, and steep ridges. The park surrounds Dewey Lake, a 1,100-acre reservoir that provides opportunities for boating, fishing, and paddle sports. The park is named after Jenny Wiley, a pioneer woman captured by Native Americans in the late 1700s, whose story is an integral part of regional history. Visitors can explore a variety of ecosystems including hardwood forests and wetlands, which support diverse wildlife such as white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and numerous songbird species.
