The park covers an area of approximately 55 acres and is characterized by its rocky headlands and former granite quarries. Historically, the area was known for its granite industry, a legacy that is still visible today in the form of the park’s granite formations and quarry ponds. The ecology of Halibut Point is diverse, with coastal meadows, wetlands, and wind-swept beaches providing habitats for various bird species, making it a prime location for birdwatching.
