Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage

Located in southwestern New Mexico, Caballo Lake State Park is centered around a reservoir formed by Caballo Dam on the Rio Grande. The park features desert landscapes and is surrounded by the rugged Caballo Mountains, making it a scenic and tranquil destination for recreation. Established as a state park in 1964, it serves as a popular spot for fishing, boating, and picnicking.
