Lake Darling State Park is located near Brighton in Henry County, Iowa, centered around the 302-acre Lake Darling reservoir. The park covers over 1,200 acres and features a mix of forested areas, prairies, and wetlands that support diverse flora and fauna native to the region. Established in 1950, the park is named after Jay Norwood "Ding" Darling, a renowned conservationist. Lake Darling serves as the primary water source for wildlife and provides excellent habitat for fish including largemouth bass, bluegill, and crappie, making it a favored destination for anglers. Visitors can enjoy boating, canoeing, and kayaking on the lake’s calm waters.
