Georgia Veterans State Park is located near the city of Cordele in Crisp County, Georgia, encompassing approximately 1,200 acres surrounding Blackshear Lake. The park was established in 1946 as a tribute to military veterans from Georgia and has since expanded to offer a wide range of recreational and educational opportunities. Its terrain features rolling pine forests, hardwood bottomlands, and the 375-acre Blackshear Lake, which supports freshwater fishing, boating, and paddle sports. Visitors can explore several well-maintained hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, and playgrounds throughout the park.

A notable landmark within the park is the Georgia Veterans State Park Museum, which honors the service and sacrifice of Georgia's veterans across all branches of the armed forces and multiple conflicts. Interpretive exhibits and memorials provide educational insights into military history and Georgia’s veteran community.

The park’s campgrounds are well-equipped, including options for RV camping with hookups, tent sites, and group camping areas, many of which are close to lakeside amenities. Wildlife viewing is rewarding, with common sightings including deer, songbirds, and waterfowl. Fishing in Blackshear Lake offers bass, bream, catfish, and crappie.
