About Robinson Preserve

Robinson Preserve is a coastal conservation area located on the southern shore of Tampa Bay in Manatee County, Florida. Covering approximately 487 acres, the preserve stretches across a mix of salt marshes, mangrove forests, tidal flats, hardwood hammocks, and open upland areas. The preserve protects vital estuarine habitat that supports diverse wildlife, including shorebirds, wading birds, fish, and small mammals. Opened to the public in 2014 following an extensive restoration project, Robinson Preserve transformed from former private land to a vibrant natural refuge and recreational destination. Visitors can explore nearly five miles of multi-use trails and boardwalks that wind through different habitats, providing scenic views of the bay and opportunities for birdwatching and nature photography. The preserve also features a kayak launch and a canoe trail that allows paddlers access to the bay’s sheltered waters and mangrove estuaries. Robinson Preserve is recognized for its educational programs and environmental stewardship efforts spearheaded by Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources. It offers a peaceful retreat from urban areas and a place to connect with Florida’s coastal ecosystems. The preserve’s layout makes it accessible for casual walks, cycling, wildlife viewing, and low-impact water activities. Its proximity to Bradenton and nearby coastal communities makes it a popular day destination for locals and visitors seeking natural waterfront experiences in Southwest Florida.
