Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge Adventures

Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge spans over 10,600 acres in Steele and Freeborn counties in southern Minnesota, centered around the large, shallow Rice Lake. The refuge protects one of the largest wetlands in the region, providing critical habitat for migratory waterfowl, shorebirds, and a variety of other wildlife species. Its diverse landscape includes open water, marshes, wet meadows, grasslands, and upland forests.
