Wollumbin National Park, recognized for its scenic landscapes, centers around the ancient volcanic plug known as Wollumbin, or Mount Warning to European settlers. This towering landmark, rising dramatically from the surrounding terrain, plays a significant cultural role for the Bundjalung People, who have held it as a sacred site for centuries. The park is a biological hotspot, home to lush rainforests and a diverse range of wildlife including numerous bird species and the rare Fleay's barred frog. Visitors are drawn to the park primarily for the Wollumbin Summit Track, which, although currently closed, traditionally offered a challenging hike culminating in panoramic views of the region. Other trails within the park provide opportunities to experience the dense canopy and unique flora.
