The Serra de Prades Natural Area is located in the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range in the province of Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. This protected natural space encompasses a rugged limestone massif reaching elevations over 1,200 meters, including its highest peak, Tossal de la Baltasana (1,203 m). The area is characterized by dense forests primarily of pine, oak, and holm oak, with patches of beech and fir at higher altitudes supporting a rich biodiversity of Mediterranean flora and fauna. Wildlife includes species such as wild boar, roe deer, foxes, and numerous bird species including raptors and woodpeckers.
