Spanning approximately 25 hectares, the Trust is dedicated to the breeding and conservation of waterfowl and other wildlife. It is an important habitat for a variety of species, including some that are endangered. Efforts began in the 1960s, and today the Trust acts as a sanctuary for birds such as the Scarlet Ibis and the White Cheeked Pintail Duck. The area is not only a critical ecological resource but also serves as an educational facility, promoting awareness on environmental conservation.
