Pine Creek Natural Area is located within Tioga State Forest in north-central Pennsylvania. It encompasses over 8,000 acres along Pine Creek and the surrounding gorge, a landscape known as the 'Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania.' The area's steep cliffs, dense forestlands, and winding waterway create an environment rich in biodiversity and outdoor recreation. The natural area was established to conserve the region’s old-growth forest remnants, rare plant species, and critical wildlife habitat, including populations of black bears, bald eagles, and river otters.
