Established in 1973, Pindus National Park (Vikos–Aoös National Park) is located in the Pindus mountain range within the Epirus region of Greece. The park covers an area dominated by impressive limestone formations, including the Vikos Gorge, one of the world's deepest river canyons, and the Aoös Gorge. The park’s rugged terrain varies from steep cliffs and rocky outcrops to dense forests of black pine, fir, and maple.
