About Narewka Landscape Park

Narewka Landscape Park is a protected area renowned for its rich biodiversity, primeval forests, and meandering rivers, offering visitors a peaceful retreat ideal for wildlife watching, hiking, and nature photography.

Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage

Narewka Landscape Park, established in 1996, is located in the Podlaskie Voivodeship of northeastern Poland near the Belarusian border. This protected area covers a mosaic of primeval forests, river valleys, wetlands, and meadows along the Narewka River, a tributary of the Narew River. The park is part of the larger Naliboki Forest region, characterized by its ancient, largely untouched woodland that supports an exceptional diversity of flora and fauna. The area serves as a vital habitat for many rare and endangered species, including European bison, lynx, wolves, and numerous birds like the black stork and lesser spotted eagle. Visitors to Narewka Landscape Park can immerse themselves in quiet, sustainable outdoor activities such as hiking along well-marked trails, birdwatching from observation towers, and exploring traditional villages that reveal local cultural heritage. Canoeing on the Narewka River offers the opportunity to observe the landscape's gentle river valleys and lush floodplain forests. The park is also an important scientific site for ecological research and environmental education, with various nature reserves embedded within its boundaries. Overall, the park's tranquil atmosphere, extensive wilderness, and unique natural values make it a significant destination for nature enthusiasts and conservation-minded travelers.
