Covering a rugged mountainous landscape north of the city of Málaga, the park protects part of the Montes de Málaga mountain range, characterized by its Mediterranean pine forests, cork oak groves, and diverse flora and fauna. The park’s geography includes steep ravines and water reservoirs formed by the Guadalmedina River, contributing to an important watershed for the region.
