Lovćen National Park, located in southwestern Montenegro, is celebrated for its dramatic mountainous landscapes and cultural landmarks. The park encompasses the central and the highest part of the Lovćen mountain range and is bordered by the Adriatic Sea to the southwest. The highest peak, Štirovnik, reaches an elevation of 1,749 meters, offering incredible vistas of the surrounding region. Lovćen is home to over a thousand species of plants, which contribute to its rich biodiversity. It's also a crucial habitat for a variety of wildlife, including birds and mammals that thrive in its forested areas. Notably, the park houses the Njegoš Mausoleum, a culturally significant site dedicated to the famous Montenegrin ruler and poet Petar II Petrović-Njegoš.
