Ledge View Nature Center is located near the city of Chilton in Calumet County, Wisconsin. The center is known for its pronounced limestone outcrops, caves, and sinkholes characteristic of the region’s karst topography. Covering an area of approximately 105 acres, it provides visitors with a chance to explore natural cave formations including two caves open for tours: the small Marian and Ledge View caves. The ecology of the area includes a mix of hardwood forests, prairie restorations, and wetlands that support diverse wildlife such as white-tailed deer, various bird species, and native wildflowers. The center features an interpretive building with exhibits on local geology, wildlife, and conservation practices. Outdoor opportunities include several miles of maintained trails suitable for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing during winter months.
