Khun Korn Waterfall Conservation Area is located in the Chiang Rai Province of northern Thailand and is centered around Khun Korn Waterfall, the tallest waterfall in the province, which cascades approximately 70 meters over multiple tiers into a lush valley. The conservation area protects a significant patch of tropical evergreen forest and serves as habitat for diverse flora and fauna including numerous bird species, insects, and native plants. The site provides a tranquil environment for visitors seeking nature walks, wildlife viewing, and peaceful outdoor recreation away from urban centers. With a relatively easy hiking trail leading visitors through shaded forest paths to the waterfall’s base, the area is popular among day-trippers and nature enthusiasts. Historically, the region belonged to local hill tribe communities and has become an important nature preservation area managed by the national forestry department. The cool mountain air combined with the sound of cascading water creates a serene atmosphere, making an ideal spot for photography and relaxation. Visitors are drawn to the waterfall’s natural pools and the surrounding forest’s biodiversity, fostering an appreciation for northern Thailand’s mountainous ecosystems. This conservation area plays a role in local eco-tourism and environmental education, encouraging responsible enjoyment of natural resources.
