Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary is located approximately 32 kilometers from Bikaner, Rajasthan, encompassing a protected forest area along with a sizable lake that serves as a vital water source for the resident fauna. Spread across dry deciduous forest and grassland habitats, the sanctuary supports a healthy population of herbivores including blackbuck, chinkara, nilgai, wild boar, and blue bull. It is also home to numerous resident and migratory bird species, making it an excellent site for birdwatching enthusiasts. Established as a wildlife sanctuary in the late 1980s, it evolved from a former hunting ground that belonged to the royal family of Bikaner, now managed for conservation and eco-tourism.
