Located in Mystic, Connecticut, the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center spans over 300 acres of diverse ecosystems including woodlands, wetlands, and wildflower meadows. The center is renowned for its interactive displays and exhibits that detail the local flora and fauna, providing an educational and enlightening experience for visitors of all ages. Established in 1946, the center has flourished as a hub for conservation education and outdoor recreation. Visitors can explore over eight miles of well-maintained trails that traverse various habitats, offering opportunities for bird watching, wildlife viewing, and photography. Notably, the Butterflies, Bees, and Hummingbirds Garden offer a chance to see pollinators in their natural environment. The center is also home to Birds of Prey enclosures, a unique attraction where visitors can learn about native raptors. The Denison Homestead Museum is adjacent, offering a glimpse into the 18th-century life of the original settlers.
