Deliblato Sands, often referred to as the 'European Sahara,' is a distinctive geographical area in the southeastern part of the Vojvodina Province, Serbia. Spanning over 300 square kilometers, it is renowned as the largest sandy terrain in Europe and is characterized by its unique blend of sand dunes, steppe vegetation, and woodland areas. Its isolated ecosystem supports a wide variety of flora and fauna, some of which are endemic or endangered. Wild boar, roe deer, and an array of bird species, including the rare imperial eagle, find refuge here. Historically, it has been protected for its ecological value and is currently designated as a Special Nature Reserve.
