Celaque National Park, located in western Honduras, is renowned for its cloud forest ecosystems and the highest peak in the country, Cerro Las Minas, which towers at 2,870 meters (9,416 feet). This expansive park covers diverse geography from dense forests to rugged mountains. The park is a critical habitat home to around 500 species of plants and nearly 300 bird species. It is significant for conservation efforts due to its biodiversity and the presence of numerous endemic species. Visitors to the park can enjoy various outdoor activities, including hiking to the summit of Cerro Las Minas, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding terrain.
