Located in the northeastern part of Minnesota near the Canadian border, the Boundary Waters Wildlife Management Area (WMA) spans a diverse landscape of forests, wetlands, and numerous small lakes and streams. This management area plays a crucial role in conserving habitats for native species including white-tailed deer, black bears, wolves, and waterfowl. The area lies adjacent to the well-known Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, sharing many ecological characteristics such as boreal forest vegetation and abundant aquatic ecosystems shaped by glacial activity.
