Historically, Bjelašnica was a key location during the 1984 Winter Olympics, hosting alpine skiing events, and remnants of the Olympic infrastructure still remain. Today, it is a popular destination for hiking in summer and skiing in winter, with a network of marked trails and ski lifts. Visitors can explore scenic peaks, alpine meadows, and pristine mountain streams. The park also offers opportunities for mountain biking, climbing, and nature photography. Conservation efforts focus on preserving its fragile ecosystems while promoting sustainable tourism.
