Bearskin State Trail stretches over 21.5 miles through the tranquil Northwoods of Wisconsin, offering a glimpse into the region's rich natural environment and fascinating history. Following the path of a former railway bed, the trail meanders through Vilas and Oneida counties, connecting with the scenic beauty of lakes, forests, and wetlands. The trail provides a wonderfully immersive experience for hikers, bikers, and snowmobilers. As part of the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest, the corridor is lush with a mixture of hardwood and coniferous trees. Wildlife including deer, loon, and the occasional black bear can be observed along the trail.
