Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage
Arví Ecotourism Park spans over 8,000 hectares in the hills east of Medellín, Colombia, offering a blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences. The park plays a vital role in preserving the Andean ecosystem, featuring montane forests, cloud forests, and diverse flora and fauna, including numerous bird species and butterflies. Historically, the area was inhabited by the indigenous Nutabe people, and today several traditional villages within the park reflect this cultural heritage. The park is also accessible by the Medellín Metro, which connects to a cable car system leading into Arví, highlighting an innovative blend of sustainable tourism and urban connectivity. The park hosts guided tours to explore native plants and animals, archaeological ruins, as well as community-led artisanal markets and local cuisine. Its altitude ranges from approximately 2,200 to 2,750 meters, providing a cool mountain climate with scenic vistas of the Aburrá Valley.
